"I do not believe Iran will decide to develop nuclear weapons": Israeli Military Chief

Chief of Staff of the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) Benny Gantz had a very interesting interview with the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.  According to Gantz:
Iran, Gantz says, "is going step by step to the place where it will be able to decide whether to manufacture a nuclear bomb. It hasn't yet decided whether to go the extra mile."
Interesting enough, Gantz states that  "I think the Iranian leadership is composed of very rational people."  As noted in a previous post, even the normally right wing Jerusalem Post recently had a long opinion piece from Post columnist Barry Rubin arguing that Iran's leadership was composed of rational people and not the "crazed, suicidal" ones they are frequently depicted as in the media.

It appears that there is a situation in Israel where the IDF in the form of its leader General Gantz is taking a very cautious approach to the possibility of Israel attacking Iran, whilst the political leadership - especially Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - seem much more determined that Israel strike Iran.  Usually one associates a country's military leadership as more likely than its civilian leadership to plump for a military option as the solution to a problem, yet in Israel we clearly see this is reversed.
